How do I preview a row without leaving the view?
Click the row. The note opens in a peek beside the view, and the list stays where it was.
- In a database view, click a row or card. The note opens in a peek on the right.
- Read or edit the note there.
- To move the peek, click Peek position in its header and choose Dock left, Dock right, Center or Bottom sheet. You can also drag the header.
- Press Esc to close it.
Shortcut: Esc closes the peek.
Other ways
- Peek position › Open in split moves the note into a pane of its own.
- Maximize pane in the peek's header opens the note as a tab that fills the window.
Good to know
- Each view chooses how rows open, under View preferences › Opening. Set Open notes to Peek, Pane, Full or Properties. With Peek, Peek position sets the side it opens on.
- Center and Bottom sheet dim the view. Click outside the peek to close it.
- References rows open their properties. Links rows open their page beside the view. A task opens in the task editor.
