How do I create a new view?

Open the view menu in the database header and choose Add view.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Open the database you want another view of.
  2. Open the view menu in its header and choose Add view. The + beside it does the same.
  3. A Table view named New view opens, with its settings beside it.
  4. On the Layout tab, type a Name and pick a Layout: Table, Board, List, Cards, Feed, Calendar, Timeline, Map, Graph or Canvas.
  5. Add filters, sorts or groups if you want them, then click Save view.

Shortcut: none for a new view. ⇧⌘V switches the current view's layout instead.

Other ways

  • Click View preferences, then Add view from the current view to pick the layout first.
  • To start from a view you already have, choose Duplicate view. The copy is named after it, with "copy" on the end.

Good to know

  • Views live in the header's view menu, not in tabs. To keep one a click away, pin it with Arrange header actions.
  • While the settings are open, your changes are a draft until you click Save view.
  • Deleting the last view deletes the whole database. Terra asks first and offers Undo.
  • The Views section in the sidebar holds saved workspace layouts, not database views.
