How do I add a child database?
Right-click a built-in such as Links in the sidebar and choose New link database.
- In the sidebar, right-click Tasks, Calendar, Sprouts, Links or References.
- Choose the first item: New task database, New calendar database, New sprout database, New link database or New reference database.
- Type a Database name and click Create.
- The new database opens and sits under its parent in the sidebar.
Shortcut: none
Good to know
- A child of Calendar, Links or References starts with all of its parent's notes. To narrow them, click View preferences, open the Database tab and add conditions under Assembly.
- A child of Tasks or Sprouts opens as a Board. Pick the notes it reads with Sources in its header.
- A child opens like its parent, then keeps views of its own.
- Children go one level deep. Your own databases can't have children.
