How do I filter, sort and group rows?
Use Filters, Sort by and Group by in the database header.
- Open the database view.
- Click Filters, then Add condition. Choose a field, a test such as is or contains, and a value.
- Add more conditions, or click Add group for a nested set. Click the And between conditions to change it to Or or Not.
- Click Sort by and pick a field. Choose Ascending or Descending below it.
- Click Group by and pick a field. On a Board the button reads Show boards as, and the field sets the columns.
Shortcut: none
Other ways
- In View preferences, the Sort button at the top takes several rules, each with Empty first or Empty last.
- The Group tab in View preferences adds a Subgroup, Show empty groups and Hidden groups.
Good to know
- Filters, sorts and groups belong to the view. Other views of the same database keep their own.
- Changes from the header save to the view at once. While View preferences is open, they wait for Save view.
- A filter hides rows in one view. To change which notes the database holds, edit View preferences › Database › Assembly.
- Clear all in Filters removes every condition.
