How do I add a note to a database?

Right-click the database in the sidebar and choose New note.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. In the sidebar, right-click the database.
  2. Choose New note.
  3. The note opens. Terra puts it in the database's folder, or gives it the tag, type or status its query starts with, so the database picks it up.

Shortcut: none

Other ways

  • On a Board, click Add note at the foot of a column, type a title and press Return. The note takes that column's value.
  • To add a note you already have, give it what the database collects: move it into the folder, or add the tag or property the query names. For a database you made, View preferences › Database shows what that is.

Good to know

  • A database shows the notes that match it. Take away the tag, or move the note out of the folder, and it leaves the database. The note itself stays in your library.
  • Terra applies only the query's first term, and only when it's tag:, type: or status:. With a longer query, check that the new note matches the rest.
  • On Tasks, the Board button reads Add task.
