How do I move between panes?
Click a pane, or press ⌃⌥→ and ⌃⌥← to move to the next or previous one.
- Click anywhere in a pane to work in it.
- Press ⌃⌥→ for the next pane, or ⌃⌥← for the previous one. Panes go in reading order.
- Press ⌘1, ⌘2, ⌘3 or ⌘4 to jump straight to a pane by its place in that order.
Shortcut: ⌃⌥→ Next pane, ⌃⌥← Previous pane, ⌘1–⌘4 a pane by number

- Add Previous pane and Next pane to the toolbar with Customize toolbar….
Good to know
- These keys need two or more panes. They stop at the first and last pane rather than wrapping around.
- To move a pane itself, drag the empty space in its header onto another pane's edge and drop it on Move here. A locked pane stays put.
- Change ⌃⌥→ and ⌃⌥← in Settings › Hotkeys.
