How do I find text in a note?

Click in the note and choose Edit › Find…, or press ⌘F.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Click in the pane of the note you want to search.
  2. Choose Edit › Find…, or press ⌘F. A find bar opens at the top right of the note.
  3. Type what you're looking for. Every match is highlighted, and the bar shows which one you're on, like "2 of 5".
  4. Press Return for the next match, or ⇧Return for the previous one.
  5. Press Esc, or click Close, when you're done.

Shortcut: ⌘F

Other ways

  • Click Next match or Previous match in the find bar.
  • Find also works on web pages. Open the page and press ⌘F. Terra selects each match, but doesn't show a count.

Good to know

  • Find ignores capital letters. "terra" also finds "Terra".
  • Find looks through the note's text, not its title or properties.
  • Searching doesn't change the note.
  • Switching to another note closes the find bar.
  • To search every note in your library, press ⇧⌘F instead.
