Type / and choose Citation, then pick the source.

  1. Put the caret where the citation goes. Type /citation and press Return. Terra types [@.
  2. Type part of the source's title, author or citation key.
  3. Pick the source. The citation appears in the text, and a References list builds at the end of the note.

Shortcut: none

Other ways

  • Type [@ yourself, or type @ and pick from the Cite group.

Good to know

  • Sources are notes whose type is paper, article, book or report, and any note with a citation key.
  • A source without a key gets one the first time you cite it.
  • To add a source from a DOI or ISBN, click New… in the toolbar and choose Add reference. Terra saves it in your References folder.
