How do I add a reference by DOI or ISBN?
Click New… in the toolbar, choose Add reference, then enter the DOI or ISBN and click Look up.
- Click New… in the toolbar and choose Add reference.
- Paste a DOI or an ISBN, then click Look up or press Return.
- Check the details Terra found. You can change the Title.
- Click Add reference. The new note opens. It lives in the References folder.

Other ways
- To bring in many at once, use Settings › Import and choose Zotero / Mendeley.
Good to know
- Terra treats anything shaped like an ISBN as a book and everything else as a DOI.
- Other identifiers and web addresses aren't looked up. To keep a webpage, use Save to Terra.
- The note gets the authors, date, publisher or journal, and the link to the source.
