How do I import notes from another app?

Open Settings › Import, pick the app your notes come from, choose its export, then click Start import.

  1. Open Settings › Import.
  2. Pick the app your notes come from. For a folder of .md files from anywhere, pick Plain markdown.
  3. Click Browse and choose what the tile asks for, such as a .zip export or a .enex export.
  4. Under Conflict policy, choose Skip existing, Keep both (suffix) or Replace.
  5. Click Preview contents to check what will come in, then click Start import.

  • Right-click an empty part of the sidebar and choose Import library….

Good to know

  • Each source lands in its own folder inside Imported, shown under Destination.
  • Progress and a summary appear in the drawer at the bottom of the window. You can keep working while it runs.
  • Zotero / Mendeley takes a BibTeX, RIS or CSL-JSON export and turns each entry into a reference note.
