How do I insert a block with the slash menu?

Type / in a note and pick a block from the menu.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Open the note in Edit mode and put the caret where the block goes.
  2. Type /. The menu lists commands under Blocks, Inline and Insert.
  3. Keep typing to narrow the list, like /table or /h2.
  4. Press ↑ or ↓ and Return, or click a command. Esc closes the menu.

Shortcut: ⌘/ opens the menu at the caret.

Other ways

  • Click Insert block (+) in the toolbar at the top of the note.

Good to know

  • The menu opens at the start of a line or after a space, so text like a/b stays as typed.
  • It doesn't open inside code blocks or math.
  • To change a block that's already there, click its handle in the left margin and choose Turn into.
