How do I back up or sync my library with git?

Click Versions in the sidebar, then Initialize version control.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Click Versions in the sidebar.
  2. Click Initialize version control. Terra starts a git history in your library folder.
  3. Click Save version to record every change in the library. Each save is named with its date and time.
  4. Click Pull to bring in changes from your remote, and Push to send yours. The number on each shows how many saves are waiting.

Shortcut: none

Good to know

  • Terra uses the git installed on your Mac. Without it, Versions shows Version control unavailable.
  • Terra never asks for or stores git passwords. Set up the remote in Terminal: name it origin, use an HTTPS or SSH address, sign in, and push once so the branch has an upstream.
  • The library's .terra folder is never committed. It holds the search index, caches and this library's settings.
  • If a pull hits conflicts, Terra tells you. Fix the marked notes, then save a version.
