How do I restore an earlier version of a note?

Click Versions in the toolbar, then choose Restore version on a save.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Open the note and click Versions in the toolbar. The Versions drawer lists the note's saves by month.
  2. Click a save to see what it changed. It opens in a new tab in the same pane.
  3. Open that save's actions (…) and choose Restore version. Confirm.

Shortcut: none

Other ways

  • View version in the same menu shows the note as it was, without changing it.

Good to know

  • Versions need version control, which uses git on your Mac. Click Versions in the sidebar and choose Initialize version control once.
  • A save is made when you click Save version in Versions. Terra doesn't make saves on its own.
  • Restoring replaces the note's text. Changes since the last save are lost, so save a version first if you want to keep them.
