How do I capture a quick thought or link?

Press ⌃⌥⌘N from any app, or choose File › Quick Capture…, then type and press ⌘↵.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Press ⌃⌥⌘N, or choose File › Quick Capture…. Terra comes forward with the capture card.
  2. Type a Title, Notes, or both.
  3. To keep a link, copy its address and click Paste. Terra fills in URL and sets Source to Link.
  4. Add Tags if you like, separated by commas.
  5. Press ⌘↵ or click Save. The note goes to Inbox.

Shortcut: ⌃⌥⌘N opens it from any app. ⌘↵ saves, Esc closes.

Other ways

  • Right-click an empty part of the window and choose Paste as note to turn your clipboard into a new note in Inbox.
  • Add Quick capture to the toolbar with Customize toolbar….

Good to know

  • A library must be open.
  • A captured link keeps the address, not the page. To keep the page's text, use Save to Terra in Terra's browser.
  • Pasting with ⌘V into a field adds plain text. Only the Paste button recognizes a link.
  • Choose Email or Message under Source to note who it came from.
