How do I restore or permanently delete trashed notes?

Open Trash in the sidebar, right-click the note and choose Put Back.

Checked against Terra 0.1.0
  1. Click Trash in the sidebar's Databases section.
  2. To restore a note, right-click it and choose Put Back. It returns to the folder it came from.
  3. To clear Trash for good, click Empty trash in the header, then Empty trash again to confirm.

Shortcut: none

Other ways

  • To restore several notes, select them and hold ⌥. Delete in the selection bar changes to Put Back.
  • To remove only some notes for good, select them and click Delete. Terra doesn't ask first.

Good to know

  • Deleting from Trash removes the file from disk. It doesn't go to the macOS Trash and can't be undone.
  • Notes older than 30 days are removed when you open Trash. To change the limit, click View preferences in the Trash header and set Empty Trash automatically.
  • If a note's name is taken when you put it back, Terra gives it a new one.
